“Those who build deep connections to nature are more likely to help protect it. So it’s important for us to help everyone find cherished memories and experiences outside.”

As Groundswell’s Conservation Director, Tony helps ensure the permanence of our work. He leads our conservation easement stewardship program and builds relationships with our easement landowners.

Tony also leads Groundswell’s effort to help others make meaningful connections to nature. He builds community relationships and partnerships at Patrick Marsh and Westport Prairie, and helps find ways to make these special places more accessible to all. Tony also leads Groundswell’s effort to help create green schoolyards at Madison’s Community Schools.

Tony believes the outdoors should be accessible and inclusive to everyone. Whether you make connections to nature, or build connections with friends and family in nature, it’s important to build memories in your favorite places. That’s how we create conservation allies. The more people we help find cherished memories in nature, the louder our voice for conservation can be.
