Catie Stumpf joined Groundswell Conservancy in June 2026. As the Communications Coordinator, she strives to expand and diversify conservation networks through community-focused storytelling. Catie graduated from UW-Madison with a B.S. in English, environmental studies, and science communication. Prior to joining Groundswell, she worked in communications & outreach for McHenry County Conservation District and UW’s Office of Sustainability.
Catie grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, where she began her career in conservation doing restoration and land stewardship with Citizens for Conservation, a volunteer-based nonprofit.
Outside of work, Catie enjoys biking, gardening, and birding. Alongside her communications work, you may still find Catie volunteering on prescription burns, brush cutting workdays, or early morning bird surveys.
