Amy joined Groundswell Conservancy in 2025. As Director of Development & Communications, she builds and nurtures relationships with Groundswell’s loyal donors, securing vital support for our growing footprint of protected places. Additionally, she develops communication strategies that encourage community awareness and engagement.
For the 15 years prior, she was a nonprofit communications consultant, directing PR and marketing strategies for Madison Public Library Foundation, the Wisconsin Book Festival, and many other clients. She’s a UW-Madison journalism and women’s studies graduate, and a former writer and editor at The Capital Times.
Amy grew up on 80 acres of woodlands in rural northeastern Ohio and has always loved the outdoors. She learned about Groundswell through her participation in the annual Black Hawk Ridge Trail Run, which benefits our organization.
In a volunteer capacity, Amy is President of the Mount Horeb Summer Frolic Inc., an annual festival that raises money for Mount Horeb parks and recreation. In her spare time, you’ll find her hiking with her family and their beagle (her go-to special places are Military Ridge State Trail, Stewart County Park, and Blue Mound State Park), attending classes at Dragonfly Hot Yoga, listening to audiobooks, or paddleboarding.
