Donor-Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably-inclined individuals, families and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock and in some cases, certain liquid assets, to Groundswell.
EarthShare/ Workplace Giving
Employees of state government (including UW System employees), Dane County, City of Madison, Madison Metro School District, Monona School District, and Madison College, can donate to Groundswell through EarthShare Wisconsin in their workplace giving campaigns, primarily through payroll contributions. Giving through EarthShare Wisconsin is an easy way to support permanent land conservation here in the Dane County region. Our Combined Federal Campaign number (CFC) is 68150. If you would like more information about EarthShare Wisconsin and how they can be an option in your workplace giving campaign, please contact nonprofits@earthshare.org or (608) 274-1173.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Do you want to double your contribution to Groundswell? Many companies will match an employee’s gift to a non-profit organization on a dollar-for-dollar basis. In some cases, companies will also match the gifts of retired employees. Check and find out if your employer has a matching gift program. Send corporate matching form to: Groundswell, 211 S. Paterson St, Suite 250, Madison, WI 53703.

Thrivent Choice
Groundswell is enrolled in Thrivent Financial’s member-advised charitable grant program, Thrivent Choice®. Eligible Thrivent members are designated Choice Dollars® that they can direct online, by phone, or through their Thrivent Financial representative, thereby recommending that Thrivent provide charitable grant funding to Groundswell.
Charitable Gift Annuity
When you establish a Charitable Gift Annuity with Groundswell you make a commitment to generations to come while creating a stable income for life. Annuity payment amounts are based on the size of the gift and the age of the beneficiary. Younger donors often prefer Deferred Gift Annuities – they would receive the charitable tax-deduction when the annuity is set up and the annuity payments begin at retirement. Please contact Heidi Habeger at heidi@groundswellconservancy.org or (608) 258-9797 for more information.
Gifts of Real Estate
Groundswell sometimes can accept gifts of real estate such as land, a farm, or a home. Please call Heidi Habeger at (608) 258-9797 or write to her at heidi@groundswellconservancy.org if you are interested in making a gift of real estate.
