You’re invited to join us for a walk on the drumlin — a remnant of the once vast Empire Prairie that blanketed this area with grasses and flowers. Come see this state natural area and the spectacular view it offers!
BJ Byers, our Land Management Director, will also share this year’s improvement plans for Westport Prairie (and point out recent happening, like the prairie planting and burns)
When: It’s official!! The walk will be on Friday, April 12th from 1:30 – 3:00 pm.
Where: Westport Prairie farmstead – 5208 Bong Rd, Waunakee (map link), NOT the small parking lot at the top of the hill.
We’ll walk from the farmstead out to the 14-acre drumlin, where pasque flowers are blooming. Out and back is about 1 mile and the trail up to the top of the drumlin is a decent incline.
